Willis Marti is the Chief Information Security Officer for Texas A&M after moving up from Director of Networking. He has taught networks and information security in the Computer Science department.
He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, 1974, and received his Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Stanford University in 1978. Willis was a Commissioned Officer (Lieutenant and Captain) in the Air Defense Artillery. Following ten years of active service, Mr. Marti built large networks in industry where he held project management positions with companies including TRW, Martin Marietta and Sytek. He joined Texas A&M in 1990.
Mr. Marti has published on distributed platforms, distributed operating systems, fault tolerance, and security and reliability issues. He has served as expert witness in criminal and civil cases for computer forensics, software engineering, telecommunications and system performance.
