Lorraine A. Goffe is the Vice President for Human Resources at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As Vice President, Lorraine is responsible for the strategic direction, operations, services, and programs that support the 13,000 plus faculty and staff at the Institute. Lorraine joined MIT in February 2015, where she serves as an advisor to the President and other senior administrative and academic leaders.
Lorraine has over 20 years of experience in various aspects of human resources. Prior to joining MIT, Lorraine served as Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at Washington University, where she held several leadership positions from 2000 to 2015. Lorraine has also served in HR leadership roles at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and San Diego Gas & Electric Company.
Lorraine earned a Bachelor of Arts in business from William Woods University and an MBA from National University in San Diego. She is an alumna of Leadership St. Louis, a selective leadership development program for community leaders. Lorraine has served on many professional and non-profit boards during her career and currently serves as a member of the TIAA-CREF Advisory Council and on the board of the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA).
